It's been a while. I don't write so much these days. Time pressures is my excuse, but it's not a matter of time. More of headspace.
I know that if I write regularly then good things happen: I process thoughts I didn't realise I had, and sometimes a string of not-so-bad words come out.
Habits are the foundation of life. They say you are what you do regularly.
So this is my attempt to help rebuild that habit.
Just over seven years ago I took up the challenge to write daily. I wrote 300 words a day for five months straight.
By the end words flowed easily, and I'd processed a lot.
For now I'm setting the bar lower. 100 words. The amount of words isn't the goal. Showing up regularly is.
I'm not setting a streak target. I probably won't write on Sundays. Some posts will be private, others public. Some will be short, others long.
This experiment may last a long time, or be short-lived. But it's one I want to take up.
So that's today's entry. Rather bland really, but a step in the right direction.
Let's see where this ends up.
